Do you offer grants to give financial assistance for farms?
No, but we do offer programs are cost-share programs that pay a certain amount depending on the practice after it is completed per NRCS specifications. The landowner/operator is responsible for the up front cost.
Does Stewart County Soil & Water Conservation District do PERC tests?
No, that is done through Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation (TDEC). You can find more information at https://www.tn.gov/environment/permit-permits/water-permits.html or call 615-687-7000.
When can I put in an application for the cost share programs?
You can submit an application anytime. The TDA cost share programs accept applications all year long, however projects have to be completed by June 1st of every year for that fiscal year of funding.
The programs offered through NRCS have also accept applications all year round however do have cutoff deadlines for each fiscal year depending on the program.
